Harvey Wine & Beer Making Centre
January 19, 2009I went to Harvey’s in Fareham again last week to buy a beer kit for Dave. As usual the service was excellent and we had a good chat about the business. It turns out that more of us are brewing than ever before, perhaps it’s the recession or perhaps the internet has started to make it fashionable again, but keep up the good work you guys.
It turns out Harvey’s have updated their website and now take orders from anywhere in the UK online and delivery is free for orders over £48. See the link on the right in my blogroll (4u2Brew.co.uk). Although I order most of my equipment online it’s nice to have a local homebrew shop for the odd tub of sterilizer or bag of bottle caps so I’m hoping they carry on doing well.
I have just rediscovered the joys of home brewing after an absence of several years (still left scratching my head as to what happened with my original equip over the past years!)
After talking to a friend i ‘popped’ into Harveys just to have a look (well thats what i told the missus!). I was amazed at the range of beers and equip for sale and immediately bought the micro brewery kit. I have been back several times since and even got another friend into brewing! The shop owner of Harveys is a really lovely guy and always offers hints and tips which are most welcome – its refreshing to go to a shop these days and find someone who knows their stuff! Well done for keeping such a well stocked shop and for the advice! I certainly recommend a visit to Harveys!!
